Marla and Deerrun were married March 15, 2003 in a beautiful
ceremony at the Royal Palms Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. In February 2006 they became the proud parents of Anna.
Brother Nathan joined the family in October 2008.
Anna and Nathan attend Stuyvesant High School.
Marla graduated from Dordt College
with a degree in English and certification to teach high school language arts. She
then taught high school English and journalism at Rehoboth
Christian School in Rehoboth, New Mexico, for two years. Beginning in 1999 until the children were born,
Marla worked as a production editor at Vintage
Books, a division of Random House, Inc.
Deerrun completed Columbia Law School
and passed the New York bar examination in 2003.
The Jea's live Brooklyn. She works at Redeemer Presbyterian Church Downtown.
